A UNIQUE INTERNATIONAL PARENTING PROGRAM FROM THE U.S.
(Conducted successfully in over 70 countries)

Written by: Dr. Thomas Gordon Best Selling Parent Classic and Nobel Peace Prize Nominee.

This program provides parents with the “HOW-TO-SKILLS” and theory to build and enhance parent child/teenager relationships by achieving a balance between over-controlling or no-control parenting methods.

This highly effective program is conducted over eight (8) sessions each consisting of 3 hours duration.  For participants to maximize the benefits from this program it is important they attend all sessions as each session builds on the previous session.

The program is structured to provide participants with the skills to adopt in addressing a variety of behavior/relationship issues that families deal with everyday. An important success element of the program requires participants to apply the skills learned within their family environment between sessions.

Each session includes group sharing to provide an opportunity for participants to share their experiences to receive instructor feedback and learn from the sharing of other participants.

What do we do in the 8 Sessions?

Session 1:  Takes a practical look at the dynamics of child/teenage issues and why these may occur.

Session 2:  Learn skills to respond effectively to child/teenage behavior in a manner that recognizes the importance of preserving the emotional well being of both parent and child/teenager.

Session 3:  Develop listening skills to gain a deeper appreciation as to what upsets and distresses your child/teenager.

Session 4:  Learn assertive skills to understand the needs of your child/teenager so that they will listen to you.

Session 5:  Integrating skills learned to successfully handle negative responses from your child/teenager to your requests.  This is a critical session.

Session 6: Learn Conflict Resolution skills to achieve win-win outcome in resolving conflicts between parent-child/teenage as well as adult-to-adult relationships.

Session 7: Develop further the win-win theory skills within a family meeting environment to resolve sibling rivalry and parent-child/teenager agendas.

Session 8: Combines all P.E.T. skills learned from previous sessions to address family issues arising from differences in personal values within the family.
